In lieu of pictures from putting the inner frame on, here are pictures of it in its put-on state. This also shows the liquid balance system which can be used to dynamically balance the inner frame.
Last of all there are pictures of a hex cell platform to mount electronics to. It’s not super interesting (“funky shaped whiteboard”, somebody said) but I made it (along with Nick) therefore it has value greater than its intrinsic interestingness. It weighs maybe 15kg, and can easily hold a person.
- BLAST, complete with inner frame
- The inner frame is held by a motor on the port side
- and by a bearing on the starbord side
- The bearing side has spots for the lock pin to lock to
- A lock motor slides the pin in and out. It’s currently loose.
- Top tank for the inner frame’s liquid balance system
- And the bottom tank for the balance system
- A pump in the middle transfers liquid between tanks
- Bow piece of hex-cell electronics paltform
- Aft piece of hex-cell platform
- Whole hex cell platform in all its glory
