Yesterday, Natalie was finishing the SBSC (Spider Bore-sight Star Camera, which is being test-flown as a roll sensor). I got some photos now, since eventually it will get boxed in foam. Otherwise, a lot of the day was spent sorting out the solar panels, but since I as working, I don’t have many photos.
After dinner, Barth, Juan, Mark, Tristan, and I went for a walk around Arrival Heights. This takes you all around the coast on one side of town, and up into the hills where it gets pretty windy. Pretty scenic, and a good evening dose of outdoors.

SBSC
Electrically complete, with some neatening up yet to come

Repairing holes
Juan was sad when we had to punch holes in the aluminized-mylar-covered sun shields to attach solar panel mounting brackets

Video signal
As we would see over the line-of-sight transmitters

Posing for the star camera
BLAST was rotated so that the SBSC points towards the mezzanine. Natalie capitalizes on this circumstance

Solar panels
Completely attached

Weddell seal
Basically, a tube of fat with a tiny face and flippers

Mark
Takes his pipe on the walk

Barth
Catches his breath, facing away from the cold wind

McMurdo
A pretty ugly looking place

Juan
Wears his issued "bunny boots"

Tristan
With shiny new camera
