On the final afternoon before our cargo finally showed up, Anne, Bill, Lorenzo, Nat, and I climbed Observation Hill. Located just outside McMurdo, Ob Hill provides a great view of the surrounding area (thus the name).
McMurdo, while ascending
With the new fuel tank conspicuously branded
Natalie ascends to the half-way point
Anne too
Break time
Up to the peak, in line
And more scattered
Lorenzo finishes
And poses with the cross
(A memorial for the Scott expedition)
Bill reaches the peak
And promptly dodges my camera
Nat takes a break
Panorama of the view from on top
Anne recovers enough to enjoy the sights
Bill hangs out, watching Mt Erebus
A little quiet time
Nat poses
My turn
Preparing for descent
Preferred method: butt-sliding
(At least while the snow lasts)
Nat's turn
And Lorenzo
Bill is too dignified for butt-sliding
