Yestrday saw more gluing of the side scoop, more mirror alignment, and our second barbecue (this time without pouring rain!). Juan also went exploring a bit and took some good outdoor shots (apologies for awkwardly alliterative appellation).
The day was also sad, since we lost Natalie and Barth. They will both be back, but it is the first time our number has decreased.
- More gluing, now with Laura helping Juan, in Natalie’s absence
- Juan test fitting his peice
- And Laura test fitting another
- Tristan looks at dots, during mirror alignment. Many people have taken turns at this
- Elio takes my place when he realizes how easy it is to send commands
- The crane got moved and exposed some more lights. Now the mirror is well-illuminated
- The new heater card, on which Nick has fixed several bugs
- Apparently Nick is happy with the heater card
- Tony gets distracted by a camera while working at his computer
- Another scoop layer has been glued. Only one more to go
- The liquid helium dewar waits for its moment in the sun
- The precarious moving staircase, placed in the highbay purely for taking aerial photographs (and for retrieving shuttlecocks caught on the vents)
